Real Wedding // Lauren & Tristan’s Orchard Estate Wedding

Lauren & Tristan’s stunning Orchard Estate wedding took place on a rainy day but that didn’t stop them from having the time of their life! Smiling faces all around and a magic night to dance away with their nearest and dearest. We loved bringing their perfect day to life and watching them celebrate!

Tell us your love story, how did you both meet?
We were 18, at a house party, after maybe a few too many. He asked ‘me’ at the end of the night “are we best friends now?” until he realised he was speaking to my sister. (We both have a feeling we had met before this night but obviously it wasn’t that memorable).

How did the proposal happen?
It happened on top of a headland reserve in the northern beaches of NSW on the weekend of our friend’s wedding. I was under the impression we were going to a park for a big BBQ. The empty car park, cliff face and the fact he was wearing a button-down shirt to a BBQ should probably have given it away, but I was completely oblivious until the moment he got down on one knee.

What were the reasons for choosing The Orchard Estate as the venue for your special day?
We are from Melbourne but Byron is our favourite place on earth and we knew we wanted a destination wedding so everyone could make a trip of it. Everyone was in holiday mode and we spent 3 consecutive days together – which made it all the more fun. When we came across The Orchard Estate we both felt like it encapsulated our personalities perfectly, plus there’s just something pretty epic about a massive black barn sitting in the middle of a macadamia field.

What style were you striving for with your table settings, florals and reception? Was there a certain look or vibe that you wanted to create?
It was in such a beautiful location that I didn’t want anything to take away from that. So I went for very clean and minimal styling that was very natural to try and blend the inside with the outside.

Were there any particular vendors you loved working with and why?
They were all pretty fantastic, very relaxed and positive, even the morning of when the rains started coming in!

Overall, what was your most favourite part of your wedding day and why?
I think just partying with our favourite people in the world and seeing everyone so excited and happy for us. I loved glancing back throughout the ceremony and seeing everyone’s smiling faces – it meant the world.
