our company values
This beautiful land on which we are lucky to work and call home has a history stretching back to the beginning of the Dreaming. We are privileged to share the use of it now. We acknowledge that our workspace is on the lands of the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung Nation, and pay our respects to elders both past and present.
We are passionate about what we do! Every aspect of our work requires us to be fully immersed in bringing your dream wedding to life. Every little detail is considered and put into action with the intention to make this the best day of your lives. We thrive on this stuff!
Every wedding is different; trends and details are always evolving. Creativity is at the forefront of our success. We appreciate that you have many options when it comes to wedding planning, and we believe that our creativity is something that sets us apart. We love to think outside the box when it comes to bringing ideas to life and we feel proud to be a leader in the industry.
We're all here to celebrate your connection, your story, with your family and friends. After being involved in more than a decade of weddings here in Byron Bay, we have built strong connections with the best-of-the-best in the wedding industry so we can share our beautiful community with our couples.
Che & Mika
I'm blessed to call the Fig Tree my family home. My Mum and Dad started the Fig Tree Restaurant back in 81, and I relaunched it in 2005. A couple of years later I set up Byron Bay Weddings to help couples plan destination weddings, bringing the region's best venues and suppliers together. Since then, I've launched The Wedding Shed, to provide on-trend styling and hire pieces; Feast Events to provide a different festival style of catering; Elope for more intimate weddings; and Savvy Wed for an all-inclusive option.
I'm passionate about amazing regional food, wine, and the people who are behind the scenes creating it. I live and breathe my work, the kitchen is my happy place, and sharing this with others is my purpose.
My beautiful wife Mika and I eloped with our nearest and dearest in Japan. We celebrated in a traditional reikan with the Japanese gardens covered in snow, then came home to Byron to share another special day together with everyone here. Now our two little boys, Akio and Yuhi (sunrise and sunset), and Bobby our border collie complete the family picture.
I can honestly say "I'm living the dream!".

Byron Bay has everything, an incredibly friendly community, beautiful vistas and arguably some of the best beaches in the world.
The ever-changing bar, restaurant and social scene continues is go from strength to strength offering a plethora of options for nights out.
My husband and I got married in the UK and with this long-distance, relied on our wedding planner. From this experience, we now understand how hard it can be to coordinate everything from afar. For this reason, along with the love of helping others achieve their dream day (or week!) we have developed this ever-growing resource as the main hub for all things weddings in Byron Bay.
Byron holds a special place in my heart. I love the stunning beaches that are perfect all year round and the multitude of live music. When I’m not out exploring new cities, I’ll be spending time with my family, friends and my sausage dog. Helping couples find their dream venue in this beautiful region is what I most love about my role. Listening to their story and pulling together all the pieces…
Byron Bay is unlike anywhere else I've ever lived. The people are creative, the landscape is so vast and varied... not to mention, the sun shines all year round. I am lucky to work directly with people from all walks of life. From true Byron locals to new comers bringing a different perspective to the industry. The best part is that we are all here with a mutual goal - to collaboratively create the best weddings and events in the country.
Living in such a creative, vibrant and inspiring community where I’m able to enjoy my love of the ocean and nature each day makes me feel incredibly grateful to call beautiful, sunny Byron Bay home. I’m fortunate to work with people from different backgrounds, all over the world and absolutely love hearing my couples’ individual stories. Working closely with each couple over the course of our planning to help bring their dream vision to life is so rewarding and I’m so lucky to be a part of such a special day in their lives together.
I love living in Byron Bay for its relaxed atmosphere and simple way of life. The incredible beauty lies within its beaches and the magical hinterland. The local community is very generous and supportive of one another. It is an honour to meet so many couples at such an exciting time in their lives and hear their love story so far.
With sweeping hills and magical sunsets, cosy coves and soft sand beaches, Byron Bay is an absolute dream and what better place to celebrate such a beautiful day in peoples' lives! Having the opportunity to share my experience, tips and tricks and to be creative in designing the perfect setting for an intimate celebration amongst my couples' nearest and dearest is an absolute blessing. I love all things beautiful and delicious, so it's no surprise one of my favourite things to do is to enjoy new and exciting foods amongst friends... and helping couples create the perfect sunset settings for their own special moment.
Byron Bay is such a special place to live and work, not only for its stunning beaches and hinterland but also for its community of creatives, small business owners and entrepreneurs all working together to create something truly unique and special for our beautiful couples. I love getting to know each and every couple, their story and their families and offering up all of my knowledge, suggestions and contacts from my years of planning weddings in Byron Bay to create the perfect day! We really do have one of the greatest jobs in the world!
The Byron Bay region is a beautiful place to live and work as the area is dotted with towns, big and small, all with unique characteristics. There are coastal, country and quirky towns all within proximity. I love spending quiet weekends taking my pugs to the beach, which is great about living in a small coastal town. I am so fortunate to work in a rewarding, fun and creative industry that is thriving in Byron Bay. I love getting to know each couple, hearing their stories and being involved in such a special day.
This place just makes me tick! Yes living here is a feeling of constant holiday mode, but hey that’s because it attracts so many vibrant, friendly people and such wonderful diversity. I love how creative and ‘on the ball’ everyone just is, working hard but with a big smile and positive tude’! I’ve grown up spending a lot of time in Byron’s hinterland, and still to this day I’m gobsmacked by the pure grandeur of this region's natural beauty. It revitalises you! When I’m sharing with the world beautiful weddings in Byron Bay (a majorly inspirational part of my role), you can find me running on the beach chasing those golden sunsets alongside ‘Da Boiz’… Byron Bay Weddings two resident border collies!
