Tell us about your story, how did you meet and where did the proposal happen?
Our Story:
Dylan and I crossed paths during our school days. Fast forward nearly nine years, and here we are, now residing in Brisbane after moving from the Central Coast five years ago. We now have a little, slightly cheeky 2.5 year old Coen. And we continue to be each other’s best friends.
The Proposal:
The apartment we were living in at the time had a lovely outdoor area atop the building. We had planned a simple dinner outside, Dylan popped the question there, surrounded by the simplicity that defines us. And of course, Coen was there to witness the moment.
What were the reasons for choosing Bryon View Farm as the venue for your special day?
We’ve always had a fondness for Byron Bay, where we shared our initial holiday together. Upon attending the venue’s open day at Byron View Farm, we were immediately captivated by the breathtaking views and the charming cottage. The homely, intimate ambience sealed the deal for us. We didn’t even consider other venues; we were head over heels for the farm from the get-go.
What style were you striving for with your table settings, florals and reception? Was there a certain look or vibe that you wanted to create?
We aimed for soft, romantic vibes – a blend of simplicity and elegance. White florals accented by hints of light pink, intertwined with strings of pearls and lace, adorned our tables. The place settings were curated to exude simple, soft, romantic charm.
Were there any vendors that you particularly loved working with and why?
It’s tough to pick favourites, but a shoutout is definitely in order! Brendan’s photography skills brought our vision to life and made the entire process enjoyable. Niall’s musical talents and ability to flawlessly perform our chosen songs were truly remarkable. And Alex from Alex Ouston Beauty worked wonders, making both myself and the bridesmaids feel stunning.
I must also highlight Michelle from Byron Bay Weddings for being an exceptional on-the-day coordinator. She truly couldn’t have been better if she tried. She even found my boots in the cottage when my heels got a bit too challenging in the grass and helped put them on for me!
What were your favourite parts of the wedding planning process with Byron Bay Weddings?
Without a doubt, the styling part was an absolute blast! Discussing our vision and receiving invaluable advice from Maddie made the process incredibly enjoyable and she made sure to explain everything and go through any questions we had.
Tell us what were the most important aspects of your wedding day and which moments really stood out to you?
Dylan: The anticipation during the ceremony, awaiting Celeste’s walk down the aisle, was unforgettable.
Celeste: Similarly, the ceremony held immense significance for me. Additionally, cocktail hour stands out – transitioning from the ceremony to pouring our champagne tower and enjoying this time with our guests was pure joy. Witnessing our loved ones having a blast during the whole day and getting emotional during the ceremony was incredibly touching for both of us.
What would be your biggest advice to other couples currently planning their wedding?
Enjoy the journey, and try not to let the planning overwhelm you. I found Pinterest boards to be a great way to get some initial ideas down!
Take it all in, as the day goes by in a flash. Be present in every moment, knowing you’re in capable hands.
