Hot Air Ballooning is the first form of aviation and an absolutely magical way to see the world from above. Here in Byron Bay, we are the first to see the sunrise in Australia. So, putting two and two together with such a fantastic team of experienced pilots and crew at our fingertips was a no brainer to launch Balloon Aloft Byron Bay.

Cape Byron Distillery
Cape Byron Distillery is situated in the hinterland of Byron Bay on the beautiful Brook family farm. Established by co-founders Eddie Brook, and master distiller Jim McEwan, our distillery has been in operation since 2016 drawing inspiration from the native botanicals of the region, capturing the essence of Byron Bay.

We have long been a part of this community within the music events industry and regular tennis coaching. We wanted to mix our love of these two things to bring people an amazing Byron experience that brought people together for a great time!

All of our passengers walk away glowing with a big smile and a beautiful memory of our region. The experience is joyful, and after the flight, we spend a good time together over a delicious breakfast at the Three Blue Ducks restaurant while enjoying a reel of unforgettable pictures taken during the flight.

After taking part in our tour experience, guests can leave with a wealth of knowledge of the land, the history of the Big Scrub rainforest that once spread across the region, and the unique distillation process of Brookie’s Byron Dry Gin, among other products. After your tour, our balcony is the perfect space to share a seasonally crafted cocktail – with a picturesque macadamia orchard as the backdrop, it is ideal for photographs!

How far in advance do you suggest booking?

It is always a good idea to book as early as possible, especially for private bookings as we do book up in advance. In saying that, if you are just a couple, we sometimes have last-minute cancellations or midweek space so always worth calling into our friendly reservations team.

Cape Byron Distillery
Guests should book with as much notice as they can due to the limited space of our venue and the busy nature of Byron Bay.
