A Fig Tree Wedding Experience

Welcome

Welcome to the Fig Tree Restaurant. Let us take you on a journey and show you the end-to-end experience of getting married at Byron’s newest and oldest restaurant.

Some history first…

The story of the Fig Tree goes back over 30 years. The restaurant was actually established back in 1981 and is still run and owned by the same family. The family’s philosophy has always been about welcoming guests into their home where you are cooked delicious food, surrounded by a beautiful environment with impeccable service and accommodation on hand.

The restaurant has recently been lovingly restored post the unfortunate fire in late 2019. Re-built to replicate the old farmhouse from the outside, and inside it retains the original soul with an open kitchen, exposed timber beams, recycled hardwood floors, a stunning marble pillar bar and oversized bronzed backlit curved mirrors. You can honestly still feel the original charm despite the new impressive build.

Wake up to stylish luxury and unforgettable views

Fig Tree Restaurant features two stylish on-site accommodation options so you can stay the night before and the night of your wedding. Both options provide plenty of room to fit your immediate family or wedding party should you wish. With complete privacy and an incredible backdrop of hinterland and ocean views to wake up to, this makes for a very relaxing start to your wedding day or week!

One of the most iconic ceremony backdrops in Byron Bay!

Framed by a 150-year-old fig tree with views out to Julian rocks and the Byron Bay lighthouse, this is one of the most breathtaking ceremony spots in all of Byron Bay and perhaps even the country.

Only a quick trip from Byron Bay’s town centre

Being close to town, Fig Tree Restaurant is a just quick trip away for guests to arrive hassle-free and in time for your ceremony.

On arrival, guests are greeted by the friendly staff with a beverage from their cute retro caravan bar, Miss Mollie. Guests are invited to have a mingle around the beautiful property while they wait for the ceremony to commence.

The ultimate European meets coastal luxe vibes for a relaxing afternoon of cocktails and canapes

After the ceremony, guests are invited to enjoy some cocktails and canapés poolside under the grapevine canopy. The stunning space has lots of zones and seating and immerses you in the tranquil lush gardens.

Expansive landscaped grounds

The expansive grounds have had decades of planning and are absolutely immaculate and awe-inspiring! Enjoy walking through the olive grove with trees as old as 40 years, a cumquat orchard, immaculate hedge pathways, jasmine vines and an on-site organic vegetable garden. A stroll through the gardens is an experience in itself!

There will be no reason to leave the property for your portraits as there are SO many backdrops to choose from!

A romantic reception

Once the sun goes down, guests are invited inside the charming restaurant to enjoy an evening of love, laughter and fine dining. With the new restaurant purpose-built with wedding celebrations in mind, the ambient lighting, natural textures and large windows create the most romantic atmosphere for an unforgettable occasion.

Food & service your guests won’t stop raving about…

Seriously, the number one comment we hear after a Fig Tree wedding is how amazing the food and service was, and of course, how beautiful the location is. The team are renowned and pride themselves on 5-star food and service.

Most of the produce is actually grown on-site in the Fig Tree’s very own organic vegetable garden. The rest of the produce is sourced locally from the farmers and fisherman in the region.

Their gardener follows regenerative agriculture techniques. They start growing what they plan to be serving on their menus for 3 to 6 months time. They don’t use pesticides and there are no food miles. Right from the garden to their kitchen and then onto your plate.

Honestly, just read our testimonials to hear the feedback. And, watch the video to meet the amazing Fig Tree chefs and service team.

Enjoy a complimentary tasting experience

Choosing what to eat on your wedding day is always a daunting task. You will be invited for a complimentary tasting experience if you choose Fig Tree Restaurant or any venue through our services. This gives you the opportunity to experience the food and service you can expect on your wedding day, as well as chat with the chefs about what might be the best options for your wedding menu.

The Fig Tree Restaurant is BYO

Who doesn’t love a BYO restaurant?! Basically, you bring the alcohol and mixes and the Fig Tree team does the rest. To make the process easy, the team work with local suppliers who will help you choose the best beer and wine selection depending on the menu you have chosen. Their local cocktail list will help you choose the ultimate afternoon or evening drink appetiser.

Words simply don’t do Fig Tree Restaurant justice. It’s something you just have to experience for yourself.

Its atmosphere exudes effortless beauty; a charming restaurant, impressive gardens, the ultimate European elegance meets coastal luxe. Venture out past the grapevines, olive grove and orchard to behold the beauty of the venue’s most iconic feature – its majestic 150-year-old fig tree, framing sweeping hinterland to ocean views all the way out to the Byron Bay Lighthouse.

Come and see it for yourself. We would love to take you for a viewing.
