What five words would you choose to sum up your wedding?
It was like no other experience I’ve ever had before, everyone is there for YOU and your partner, you can feel the support in the room, so the 5 words would be beautiful, fun, emotional, happy and full of LOVE.
Why did you choose to marry in Byron Bay?
We wanted the destination wedding and Byron Bay seemed perfect to us, and it was. We live in Sydney so it wasn’t too hard for everyone to travel there. Byron Bay has an amazing feeling about it, particularly in the hinterland and it felt right to get married there.
How many venues did you look at before you picked Horizon?
We looked at 3 and I think Horizon was the 4th; we didn’t look at any more after seeing Horizon, the view and the house blew us away, it is truly a phenomenal place.
What were the main benefits of having Byron Bay Weddings assist with your big day?
Ah where do I even start?! Byron Bay weddings were amazing! Being in Sydney it wasn’t ideal booking everything via email but BBW made it so much easier. Our planner and all the right connections and knew everything, from which DJ to pick to how the lights should be set up and which ones suited Horizon, I couldn’t have done it without Helen 🙂 On the actual wedding day the whole event from start to finish was planned and executed right down to every last detail perfectly. My husband and I did not have to worry about one thing.
What was the favourite part of your day?
It’s really hard to pin one moment as being my favourite of the day, the whole wedding was amazing. If I had to pick one I would say getting to the end of the aisle with my Dad and seeing my now husband smiling at me, an amazing moment.
What advice would you give a bride to be?
CHILL OUT. Know that it’s ok to be nervous, honour it. Look after yourself and give yourself what you need for the big day. Don’t stress about the weather or things that are out of your control and remember everyone is there for you and there to support you on your day. ENJOY IT because it goes really fast. Oh and invest in a good photographer because you’ll want the photos for the rest of your lives 🙂
How long had you been planning your wedding?
About a year. But that’s because I tend to be quite organised and I don’t like leaving things to the last minute 🙂
What feedback have you had from your guests?
We received amazing feedback! People loved the food, the dance floor went off, the ceremony was beautiful and real, our celebrant was honestly amazing (Ben Carlyle) we highly recommend him if you’re looking for someone, people were blown away by the venue and the view, (Horizon) and our speeches were hilarious/ heartfelt, the service from the staff was spot on. It was the best day.
