Tips & Hints For Finding Your Floral Fit

When designing a swoon worthy wedding or event, our highly experienced coordinators leave nothing to chance. Taking immense pride in nutting out each and every detail of your big day, our team work tirelessly to ensure your wedding is everything you always dreamed it to be.

Upon finding the perfect venue to serve as a backdrop for your big day, you will probably be jumping out of your skin to move onto the next stage of planning, including locking in the creative and talented vendors best equipped to help bring those awesome styling ideas of yours to life!

One of the first (and most important) elements of styling you need to consider are the blooms. Florals play a huge role in creating the desired atmosphere at your ceremony and reception, which is why finding the right wedding florist is such an important part of the planning process.

With so many things to take into consideration, such as the style or theme that you wish to create, along with seasonal availability and budget, we understand that knowing where to begin can be a little daunting.

So we thought we’d share a few helpful hints and suggestions to kickstart the process!

One: First things first, jump online to check out floral trends, colour palettes, flower types and relevant seasonality.

Two: Once you’ve done your research, you can begin collating your ideas and inspiration to create a mood board. We love Pinterest for this, as it gives you the opportunity to draw inspiration from all aspects of life; music, art, architecture, film, interiors - the list goes on!

Three: Share your ideas and inspiration with your florist (along with your budget guidelines), to help them understand exactly what you’re after. They will then be able to offer guidance and feedback, as you work together to refine your ideas into a workable (and affordable) floral plan.

Four: Don’t forget greenery! The use of plants and foliage can completely transform a blank venue canvas, creating a lushly textured atmosphere sure to wow your guests. Foliage can also be great for the bank account, often coming in a lot cheaper than an abundance of blooms.

Five: Last but (definitely) not least, try to ensure your florals complement the other styling elements of the wedding, such as lighting, furniture and decor. If in doubt, schedule in a chat with one of our stylists or planners to make sure you’re on the right track.

Having the opportunity to work regularly with Byron Bay’s most talented florists leaves us feeling pretty blessed, so we relish any opportunity to showcase their work. These incredible floral artists not only make our job more fulfilling, their work also helps elevate each and every event we design into a visual and sensual extravaganza!
