Antonia & Sam’s Wedding

Antonia and Sam were married on April 23rd, 2010 at the The Fig Tree Restaurant, Byron Bay. Guests arrived just after lunch for a 1pm ceremony set high on the hill, overlooking the beautiful views of Byron Bay. With tastefully decorated white chairs, white umbrellas and white lanterns blowing in the breeze – the vibe was simply enchanting! At the conclusion of the magical ceremony, guests made their way over to the pool for champagne and canapes, whilst being entertained by some live acoustic music by Samuel Jared.  Meanwhile, Antonia and Sam were whisked off in "Rosie" the LuvDub, to have their wedding photos taken (and were very happy they got to take some of the delicious canapes with them!)

Around 3pm, everybody sat down at a stunningly decorated long table for speeches and a progressive sequence of food which you can read more about here. Everybody then went inside to the restaurant for the wedding dance and the cutting of the cake. This was followed by everybody getting up and having a groove to the tunes of DJ Pip

"When we got engaged we had a really clear idea of what we wanted for our wedding.  It was very important to us, that we could have a single long table for the reception and that this could be held outside and in the same location as the ceremony so guests could stay and be entertained while we had photos.  We wanted a relaxed, yet magical day with shared platters of food and plenty of wine, where people could linger and enjoy the scenery – yet if the worst happened and it poured with rain, there would be an alternative without having to pay for a marquee. The Fig Tree team were so easy to deal with and completely understood our vision, they fit in with want we wanted rather than the other way around and on the day everything ran very smoothly, and without any stress. The food was delicious and plentiful, the service was outstanding and the setting truly magical. Thank you Che, Jules and the Fig Tree team – the feedback from our guests has been outstanding and we cannot speak highly enough of the day you helped create. It truly was the best day of our lives."  - Antonia Buckman, Newlywed – Gold Coast QLD, Australia

Megan & David’s Wedding

On the 24th April 2010, Megan and David were married under the ancient and majestic fig tree at The Fig Tree Restaurant, just outside of Byron Bay. The ceremony itself took place in the afternoon, high on a hill overlooking the stunning panorama of Byron Bay, the iconic lighthouse and Julian Rocks. This was followed by champagne, bridal photos and generous platters of food. The guests then made their way to the Fig Tree dining room where they sat down to a stunning menu, heart-felt speeches and a decadent wedding cake, which was followed by dancing. There was also an after-party organised at WhyNot! in the heart of Byron Bay for the remaining guests who wanted to kick on a little longer. The beauty of this wedding lay in its inherent simplicity – the ceremony and reception were all held at the same venue – The Fig Tree Restaurant, which helped to streamline the whole event and allowed everybody to truly relax and get into the festive spirit.
